CosmoDerm® & CosmoPlast®
La Jolla, California
CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast were the only FDA-approved commercially available dermal fillers made from human collagen. Although collagen was a great forward step, newer fillers have taken their place.
***Notice-Both Cosmoderm and Cosmoplast are no longer being manufactured. Dr. Mani now uses Juvederm XC or Restylane L for injecting noticable lines and wrinkles. Long term correction fillers include Radiesse and Artefill and the collagen stimulator Sculptra.***
With CosmoDerm & CosmoPlast . . .
Temporarily replace your skin’s lost collagen through innovative treatments made from natural human collagen. Unlike other dermal fillers, CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast do not require a pre-treatment skin test, making them the first same-day, single-visit dermal fillers approved in the United States. The natural human collagen has been purified from dermal tissue grown under controlled laboratory conditions.

CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast are injected just below the surface of the skin, filling in unwanted lines and wrinkles while also adding definition to the lip border. For acne scars, CosmoPlast offers a temporary leveling to make the skin appear smooth.

FAQs
What are CosmoDerm & CosmoPlast?
CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast are collagen dermal (skin) fillers made from human collagen. Injected just below the skin's surface, they smooth wrinkles, fill in deep furrows and folds and restore the lip border.
What is the difference between CosmoDerm & CosmoPlast?
CosmoDerm is used for fine lines, while CosmoPlast is used in the treatment of deeper lines and furrows.
Can I get treatment using more than one type of filler?
CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast can be used together for optimal aesthetic results. An emerging trend is to use collagen and hyaluronic acid-based fillers in combination to temporarily replace lost structure and volume, smoothing away unwanted lines and wrinkles. However, the safety and effectiveness of combination use has not been clinically evaluated as of yet.
Is skin testing required before I can have CosmoDerm & CosmoPlast treatments?
No. You can have CosmoDerm or CosmoPlast the same day as your initial consultation or office visit.
Who can inject CosmoDerm & CosmoPlast?
CosmoDerm and CosmoPlast can be injected by a physician, such as a dermatologist or surgeon. Injections can also be given by a qualified health care professional, such as a registered nurse or physician assistant.
