How Much Filler is Needed for Wrinkles?

When using a dermal filler such as Sculptra® or ArteFill®, the amount of filler required to completely fill in your wrinkles will vary from patient to patient. The two most significant factors that will determine the amount of dermal filler you need are the degree of correction required (i.e. the deepness of your wrinkles), and the level of correction you are looking for.

Dermal fillers are typically provided in pre-filled injectable syringes. Before treatment, Dr. Nasrin Mani will discuss with you how many syringes will be needed to help you achieve the results you are looking for. You will be charged by the syringe.

Some dermal fillers, such as Restylane® and Juvéderm®, will require future periodic treatments in order to maintain their effects. If you choose not to pursue follow-up treatments, the dermal filler product will eventually dissolve, allowing your wrinkles and facial lines to regress back to the way they looked before treatment. Depending on the product you use, you can expect your results from a single treatment to last anywhere from 4 to 10 months.
